The following students have been named to Alvernia University's Dean's List for the fall 2014 semester. To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credits.

On Oct. 15, Eastern Connecticut State University hosted its annual Scholarship Reception in the Betty R. Tipton Room of the Student Center. The event brought together major ECSU Foundation scholarship donors and their respective student-recipients. This year, more than 325 scholarships were awarded, totaling more than $750,000 in financial aid to students of all backgrounds and academic majors -- both of these totals are Foundation records.

Fairleigh Dickinson University's Metropolitan Campus, located in Teaneck and Hackensack, N.J., has announced the names of students who qualified for the Dean's List for the Fall 2012 Semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, a student must carry a 3.2 or better grade point average out of a possible 4.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 letter-graded hours (four courses). One of the approximately 70 student clubs and organizations at Eastern Connecticut State University is Eastern's Peace and Human Rights Club. The purpose of the Peace and Human Rights Club is to provide a forum for activists and advocates advancing all levels of Peace and Human Rights and to energize and mobilize Eastern Connecticut State University students into informed advocates of Peace and Human Rights. The organization is committed without reservation to non-violence. As a student organization of the Eastern Connecticut State University community, the Student Peace and Human Rights Organization facilitates the advancement of Peace and Human Rights globally through local action.

One of the approximately 70 student clubs and organizations at Eastern Connecticut State University is Eastern's Debate Society. The purpose of the Debate Society is to inform and educate student members about the different aspects of debating. The Debate Society fosters and promotes intelligent and engaging debate, while providing activities and events for its members and Eastern community.
